All about taxe d'habitation and taxe foncière.

Taxe d'habitation and taxe foncière
The bills for these taxes will be sent out soon. Who must pay – who is exempt – and who is eligible for a reduction

Bills for the taxe foncière will be arriving at French addresses soon – with a deadline for payment next month. This will be followed by the taxe d’habitation which everyone who lives in France, whether as the owner of a property or as a tenant – or even free of charge must pay. Understand more about these two important local French taxes with The Connexion’s 2012 Local Taxes in France helpguide, priced €5, which is published today.
Find out if you are eligible for reductions or even an exemption from one or both taxes, what the deadlines are, what they fund, how to query a bill and the different ways to pay that are available. Details also on the French TV licence fee which is included with the taxe d’habitation plus a page of Connexion reader questions with answers on the subject.

The helpguide is written independently by Connexion journalists and sponsored by the currency company HIFX.
It is available as a downloadable version for €5 from www.connexionfrance.com
We have a limited number of printed copies at our offices. The price for these are €7.50 to include postage to a French address or €8.50 to include postage to another EU country.
